Over 30% growth in 4 months! Say What!!!

With the first quarter of the year behind us we are proud to share our recent growth. The last four months have been amazing for J&Z Professional Services.  We have grown over 30% with new contracts for both routine office cleaning services as well as post construction projects.

In mid January we completed the post construction cleaning for the WestEnd Health Care Center in Brodheadsville PA on Rt. 209. It was a 30,000 sq.ft cleaning project completed in less than 3 weeks.

February was another busy month for J&Z. We were grateful to have the prestigious St. Luke's reach out to us requesting routine cleaning services for 5 of their physical therapy locations. As a small business it is a remarkable feeling knowing we have the skills, experience and professionalism enabling us to provide cleaning services for one of the nation's top ranked medical networks. We look forward to a continued growing relationship with them.

In March J&Z completed the post construction cleaning for the newly constructed Fiat dealership off Hecktown Rd in Nazareth PA. Also newly constructed was the Allentown Family Foot Care Center that J&Z Professional Services performed post construction cleaning services for. Also in this month of madness we acquired another physical therapy location from St. Luke's giving us a total of 6 new locations from this health network. Wait....there's more!

Before bringing March's progress to an end, If I must say so myself, we ended on a very high note. Since the Summer of 2011 we have been cleaning the dorms at University Ridge in East Stroudsburg PA. The property consist of 10 buildings and a total of 140+ student apartments for East Stroudsburg University students. J&Z Professional Services has been asked to sign on for another 4 years providing post and pre occupancy cleaning beginning Summer of 2015. Looks like another exceptionally satisfied client.

Okay enough about us already! I wanted to share some of our recent success with you all. Thanks for reading and check out our before and after photos www.jzproclean.com/before-after/

Kids now, future customers later?

J&Z Professional Services sponsors the Kutztown Silverbacks, a local youth rugby team, competing in a 7 on 7 tournament in East Stroudsburg, PA……………

Sponsorship pledges & strategic advertising are two key components of any successful business in today’s economy.  Now more than ever, service companies like J&Z Professional Services rely heavily on word of mouth referrals, sponsorship pledges & strategic advertising opportunities to drive annual revenue.  Why you ask? Because today’s consumer is much more savvy when it comes to budgeting for outside services, especially those services that business professionals feel at times can be done “in house”.

Targeting an audience of young consumers that will translate into future revenue for your business is always a tricky component in any industry. This is why you need to develop a strategy that fits your budget and begin to market to the 17-25 year old audience. They represent our society’s future entrepreneurs, property managers, real estate investors & daily consumers.

One way to accomplish this feat is through effective sponsorship pledges such as the pledge J&Z Professional Services made to the Kutztown Silverbacks at their recent Youth Rugby Tournament held in East Stroudsburg, PA, where many of our existing clients call home.  The rugby team, comprised of high school juniors & seniors, was in need of additional funds to purchase equipment, uniforms and to cover their summer travel expenses. Joseph Seibert & Zakiya Smalls stepped up to the plate and rendered a donation to cover the team’s needs for their upcoming season.

Not only was the team grateful, they were elated to have support from a company that will continue to support them for years to come. Rugby, much like modern technology, is growing rapidly & gaining momentum as a new sport for kids to play in high school & college.

How does this benefit our commercial cleaning company? Sure having our logo prominently displayed on the team’s sideline banner, uniform backs & t-shirt sleeves was great, however the long term benefit was displayed on the faces of the high school kids when they had the chance to meet the business owners who supported their efforts. Tapping into a modern audience playing a modern sport which is growing traction represents what I call “Ahead of the curve advertising”. Shaking the hands of every team member was not only fulfilling for me, it made me realize a personal connection was born at that moment – a personal connection more powerful than any logo on display.

The team was very excited about meeting the community business owners who supported them. This small feat will translate into future revenue …how you ask? Because there will come a day when these teenage wonders have their own businesses and/or professions in need of the services…..who will they think of? Those folks who supported their high school dream……………..those folks at J&Z Professional Services!

No More Streaks!

No More Streaks!

Have you ever sat down at your desk and noticed the cleaning company was there the night before? Not because of the emptied trash cans, or the sparkling clean glass door. Not because of the wafting fresh smell of deodorized cleaner tickling your nose or because the carpets have been vacuumed. No – you noticed simply because the cleaners were in such a rush that they left streaky wipe marks on your office desk. It doesn't bother you much (if at all ), but at some point you say to yourself "Do I really need to know the cleaners were here?" The answer is no; no you don't!

Let's be real.  Everyone has an idea in their minds of who the cleaning crew is. For some, it involves a group of little old ladies or a team of burly men. For others, it's a ninja like squad of people dressed in all black or the humble family trying to make ends meet. Regardless of whom you have in mind, they are automatically envisioned as a rushing faction when streak marks are left on your desk.

We at J&Z Professional Services understand that this represents one of the many "pet peeves" we face in our industry. Fortunately, we have a remedy that can be used while cleaning the office and cleaning at home to avoid streaky furniture. I figured why not share it with all of you! Lucky you.

I'm sure you are familiar with Mr. Miyagi's famous quote "wax on, wax off." Wiping in a circular motion versus the linear method. When cleaning tabletops, desktops, glass, mirrors and other types of furniture the circular motion is key for achieving a streak free finish. It is in our opinion through years of practice & experience, the only method that doesn't leave wipe marks is Mr. Miyagi's "wax on, wax off."

Some other great tips to keep in mind are as follows:

  • Micro Fiber clothes – use them. They work best for picking up dust and other small particles

  • The more wet or moist your cloth is the more likely you are to leave steaks

  • Only spray the surface with a few light sprays (depending on the size of the surface). Remember “less is more.” The more product used, the more you'll have to wipe it down & it will increase your chances of leaving streaks.

  • Work the product into the surface using a circular motion in one direction. If too much product is on the surface, use the circular motion but in the opposite direction to create a streak free finish.

Now don't be afraid!  Go and have your very own Karate Kid moment. Just don't forget to wax on. Wax off. It is that simple.
